Munich --> London --> York

We woke up really early to take the taxi to the airport, arriving at a much nicer terminal than the one we flew into. Our 2 hour flight departed about an hour late due to the ice covering the plane - perhaps annoying for the European travellers, but a bit of a novelty for us Australians!

After arriving in London we had an issue with a hire car - no way were us 5 plus baggage going to fit in the small station wagon they assigned us - so we ended up with a mini van that accommodated us all comfortably, and, to top it all off, was cheaper!

After dad had a brief refresher course in manual driving (it had been a few years), we set off on our 3 hour journey to York...

...and with a quick stopover, we arrived a little over 5 hours later! The people were so friendly and although it was absolutely freezing, we were warmly welcomed into our flat. We even managed to fit the car in the parking out the back.

Well, almost.
