Royal Albert Hall was very unfortunately closed, however we still had a look around the outside. My brother is a massive fan of The Killers and although we couldn't see the stage (it was shut for the final rehearsal of Cirque du Soleil) it was fantastic to see where so many bands and artists had performed.
Our next stop was St Paul's Cathedral. Being a massive lover of Mary Poppins, I was really excited to see where the famous "Feed the Birds" was set and filmed. Unfortunately we couldn't take photographs inside, but I would say it's worth going inside if you ever get the opportunity - the sheer scale of the dome is absolutely incredible.
Although it just about killed us, we also managed to climb to the top of the Dome. What an incredible view of London! We were lucky that it was so clear that day.
In the evening, at about 9pm, we went to the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London. This ceremony has been going on for about 700 years (every night!) and it only cost a pound for the five of us to get in to see it. No photographs were allowed of the actual ceremony, but it was probably the highlight of my time in London. Very official and traditional, the ceremony is conducted at the same time every night, with the Chief Yeoman Warder halting the party holding the keys at exactly 9:53pm and asking "Who goes there?" The party responds "The keys", with the Warder then asking "Who's keys?" When the party responds "Queen Elizabeth's keys" they are let through.
The Tower of London by night was so beautiful, and witnessing a ceremony that has been occurring without fail since the 14th century was very special indeed.
