We even tried our best to teach the Americans the "AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE" chant, and after explaining it we gave it a shot...
Our reactions when they shouted back "AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE" instead of "OI OI OI" say it all.
On the menu: gummy koalas, the closest things we could find to ANZAC biscuits and Tim Tams, and some very dodgy lamingtons. Far more successful were the barbecued sausages, , fairy bread, Vegemite on toast and pavlovas.
We trusted the Americans to make the fairy bread and as you can see, they took their job very seriously.
I've included some screenshotted Snapchats from the day - as you can see, we educated everyone on how to properly write "Australia" for our national day.
With some green and yellow facepaint (actually eyeshadow) to show how patriotic we are, there was no way that this day was going to disappoint - and it definitely didn't.
